Our Aims and Objectives

We believe that learning a language provides children with an opening to other cultures, fosters their curiosity and deepens  their understanding of the world. 

The children in KS1 are introduced to Spanish through listening attentively to spoken language, exploring patterns and sounds of language through songs and rhymes and engaging in simple converstaions in Spanish.  They are taught by a fluent Spanish speaking member of staff.

The children in KS2 build on their learning from KS1 following the Primary Learning Network scheme.  

This provides a progressive scheme with a wealth of interactive and fun resources for the children to access through video lessons in class with their class teacher.  The lessons will include a mixture of practising spoken Spanish through conversations and games and with some written activities as they progress to Y5/6.
