Coronavirus impact

This page will be updated as regularly as possible with information regarding the spread of coronavirus, and its impact on school.

School remains open for the children of key workers only. We have already contacted those families of children who are still allowed in school and thank the rest of school community for keeping their children at home during this period in line with Government advice.

As advised by the government, school will continue to operate so long as we have enough staff to do so safely. Children and staff will attend unless they present the main symptoms.

Parents are advised to read the government's guidance on staying at home in the case of suspected coronavirus infection. This is based on the most significant symptoms of:

•                new continuous cough, and/or

•                high temperature (37.8°C)

If children develop either of these symptoms, they should be kept at home for a period of 7 days from the onset of the symptoms. Full details are available here:

If your child develops these symptoms whilst in school you will be called immediately to collect your child and our procedure will be followed.  Likewise staff who begin to display the symptoms will be sent home immediately and again our procedure will be followed.  This procedure is in line with all the Government guidelines with reference to if symptoms develop on site.

There is also a clear and concise risk assessment in place for cleaning throughout the day, strict social distancing whilst in school and hand washing.

In school, we will continue to encourage regular handwashing, and the use of tissues to 'Catch It, Bin It, Kill It".

Up-to-date information on the actions taken by Public Health England are available on their website:

Otherwise, activities will continue as above until such time as the government advice changes.
