The R Curriculum
The focus of our learning will be our R – Curriculum which is centred around reconnecting, recapturing, recuperating, reviving and resuming. We aim to put the children’s wellbeing and transition back to school at the heart of our activities and learning. Tiime twill be given to building relationships once again with staff and peers, listening to children’s experiences, being transparent about the steps we need to take to transition back to school, relearning the skills required to learn in school and developing the confidence needed to thrive. We will also be giving our children the space and time to rediscover themselves and give them a voice and the opportunity to be heard and the support to understand their own emotions about the changes that have occurred and their return to school.
This R Curriculum will run alongside a focus on foundation subjects - reading, writing and maths. The children’s learning under our R curriculum will focus on building small steps to develop the stamina to develop enjoyment for reading and writing whilst focusing on key skills in Mathematics.
Weekly Routines
Please ensure your child’s book bag, reading record and reading books are in school every day. Children are expected to read regularly, reading will be checked on a weekly basis.
It is imperative that reading is recorded in reading records so that we can celebrate your child's achievements. Bug Club reads will count towards Star Readers.
We will change reading books every Friday.
PE
Our PE day is Monday, as detailed in our letters, children will come to school dressed in their PE kit on that day.
Homework
Homework will be set weekly on the website. More details to follow.
