Reflecting on the Autumn term 2015

Date: 13th Dec 2015 @ 10:40pm

Welcome to my first blog post...

I thought for my first post I would reflect on this wonderful term and share with you all of the 'stand out moments' from the last couple of months.

What a super term it has been! We have learnt lots of new things this term and the children have made a fabulous start to the school year in their new class. We have had lots of fun studying the Shang Dynasty of Ancient China and learning about Early Civilisations. We have been detectives, using lots of skills to solve the case of 'Who Pushed Humpty Dumpty?'. We have learnt many different strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We have learnt how to write an exciting and gripping story, shown how persuasive we can be in our writing and written some wonderful free verse poems. In PE, we have enjoyed our topics of dance and hockey and participated in a LKS2 intersport competition. We have also created our very own animation using the 'Scratch' programme in our computing lessons. In RE, we have been learning about the Bible, parables and how the Christian faith is expressed through art.

We were fortunate enough to take a trip to a local British working farm to support our learning in Geography 'from farm to fork'. We have shared many special charity days; we 'got dotty' for Children in Need and we wore our onesies for the Joshua Tree (I'm sure I almost overheated!).

So much learning has taken place this term, not to mention the friendships that have blossomed and the confidence that has grown in all of the children. As a class, we have so much to celebrate from this term and I am super proud of every single child. I am thoroughly looking forward to the coming spring term.
